Review
Whole Earth Farms thrives on one principal tenet, which is “Goodness from the Earth.” To put it simply, all of the company pet foods are made using wholesome, all-natural ingredients. It is for this reason that many pet lovers swear by this brand. Each formula begins with a premium animal protein. It is then followed by wholesome carbohydrates, which provide maximum energy and dietary fiber for aiding with digestion.
Whole Earth Farms has made it its goal to guarantee that each product boosts your dog’s digestion and skin health. The company utilizes only the premium elements that Mother Nature has to offer.
Pros
Improved Digestion
A majority of the ingredient lists on commercial pet food products bulk up the protein percentages. Some of them do not even clarify on the quantity of their ingredients. But that is not the case with Whole Earth Farms. Switching to their protein-based brands, gives your dog a real shot at growing in a healthy and strong manner. Their dog food recipes are highly digestible, the nutrients are easy to absorb, and their bags will last for days.
Healthy Skin and Coat
Dogs are vulnerable to five main skin problems namely itchy skin, allergies, hair loss, sores & hotspots, and dull coats. Many pet owners make the mistake of chalking up their dog’s symptoms as allergies. In reality, some of these skin problems are directly related to the consumption of artificial flavors and preservatives. With the Whole Earth Farms dog foods, you do not have to worry about these fillers.
Instead, the firm’s line of brands has only rich sources of proteins and fatty acids. Most of their dry foods constitute salmon, which has a high content of omega-3 & omega-6 fatty acids. It is these compounds that promote the health of his skin and coat.
Cons
The vast majority of Whole Earth Farms products meet the nutritional standards set by AAFCO and other animal associations. Nonetheless, its wet and dry puppy brands do not quite meet the standard set for growth.
The reason for this is that these foods contain alfalfa or alfalfa meal, including the grain-free pet foods. Don’t get me wrong, alfalfa is not a bad ingredient. But, it is a member of the pea family. And just like peas, this should not be the top ingredient in dog foods. Ideally, alfalfa needs not serve as a cheaper alternative to meat sources. After all, most dog breeds are more accustomed to meat proteins not plant proteins.
Product Line
Since Whole Earth Farms is a relatively new entrant, the range of dog foods by this company is limited. Primarily, you will find four kinds of kibble advertised on their site: puppy recipe, adult recipe, a grain-free recipe with chicken and turkey, and grain-free recipe with beef and lamb.
1. Whole Earth Farms Puppy Recipe
2. Whole Earth Farms Adult Recipe
3. The Grain-Free Pork, Beef & Lamb Recipe Dry Dog Food
4. Whole Earth Farms Grain-Free Recipe with Chicken and Turkey
Whole Earth Farms also manufactures seven kinds of grain-free canned dog foods. They come in different flavors and for different life stages. They include: grain-free adult formula, grain-free puppy, grain-free hearty turkey stew, grain-free hearty chicken stew, grain-free hearty beef stew, grain-free chicken & turkey recipe, and grain-free red meat recipes.
These foods are usually packed in 12.7-ounce cans. They contain between 8 and 10 percent crude protein while the crude fat percentage ranges between 3 and 6.5 percent. As for the calories, they vary between 290 and 400 ME. All of Whole Earth Farms dog foods are AAFCO-approved for all life stages.
Ingredient Analysis
Just how effective is the Whole Earth Farms line of dog foods? Based on Whole Earth Farms Dog Food Reviews, the answer is incredibly effective! After thorough research, we found the company’s dog foods to contain only high-quality natural ingredients. Whole Earth Farms excels in exploiting meat sources. The first ingredient in nearly all of its dog foods is a meat meal; it could be turkey meal or chicken meal among others. These are the most significant sources of protein for your mutt.
Another plus from Whole Earth Farms dog foods is in their grain-free nature. Grain-free pet foods are some of the most sought after by pet owners across the globe.

Recall History
Although people believe that no invention can ever be perfect, Whole Earth Farms is the closest thing to a perfect dog food brand. For one, in the eight years that the company has been operating, there has been no Whole Earth Farms dog food recall. The same cannot be said for its parent corporation: Merrick Pet Care. The latter has grappled with recalls and tons of lawsuits.
Some dog food companies have a tendency to incorporate harmful chemicals and heavy metals to dog foods. Such chemicals include propylene glycol, mycotoxins and fungal mold while the heavy metals included are arsenic and lead. Whole Earth Farms Dog Food Reviews contain zero chemicals and zero heavy metals. If you doubt this, you can visit the FDA website.
Whole Earth Farms Pricing and Coupons
The company’s brand of dog food is high-quality. You can purchase their products at an affordable price. For a 25-pound bag of dry dog food, you will spend between $40 and $60. However, the grain-free recipes are on the higher end. Occasionally, you may find whole earth dog food coupons and special offers. Also, the Whole Earth Farms dog foods can be bought at Chewy.com, Amazon, Petco and other pet food sites.
Final Verdict
In conclusion, Whole Earth Farms are great recipes that any breed of dog will be happy to consume. Their dog foods provide a good balance of proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins and minerals. Besides, this firm produces customized dog food solutions. Ideally, if you have a puppy, there is a formula specifically made for him. The same goes for adult dog breeds.
Also, Whole Earth understands that there is no good in adding fillers to dog foods. It is why their products are 100% grain-free and they also have no artificial preservatives or flavors. Whole Earth Farms may be improved in several areas, but its background of having zero recalls and its utilization of premium protein sources point toward to a superior brand.
Remember that you do not have to be affluent to give your dog the best care. All he needs is a little exercising, proper grooming, and one of the products from the Whole Earth line of food. They are all affordable, tasty, and healthy.

This dog food is bad. This dog food put my teacup Chihuahua in the hospital.the vet doctor said this dog food is bad. I never never buy this dog food again. I want everyone to know. This dog food put my teacup Chihuahua in the hospital..
I have used this product for about 4 months with my small dog, mixing it with another brand. My dog loves the food/taste. However after already feeding part of a particular can, I found 2 inedible items in it (looked like a long dark piece of wattle which I then threw away, should have taken a photo). she got sick and I threw that can away. Now 6 weeks later, although I haven’t seen anything else in any can, she is sick again. I have discontinued feeding her this brand and have continued to feed the “other” brand she has been eating all along. She has recovered but only after a week long illness. I will be returning my left over cans of this brand to the store.
